Beat Aging and Rejuvenate your Skin with Oxygen Facial

We've always been curious how do oxygen facials work, and why do we need to help our skin breath? We dropped by Pure Element, a Dermalogica facial skin centre at Ang Mo Kio, to observe how things work. This is our friend, Ami's, first time doing an oxygen facial.

Oxygen therapy uses 98% pure oxygen, which is known to help with dull skin, acne and dehydrated skin. Through softening the impurities, oxygen facial also helps with refining pores and calming the skin!

 1. Cleanse

A thorough cleansing and aromatic facial massage to start your facial, followed by the steam machine and extraction. ​

2. Oxygen Lymphatic Drainage 

This lymphatic drainage massage will be done for about 5 minutes, and it helps to purge the toxins in the skin. It will not be done on customers with sensitive or acne skin!​

3. Serum and Oxygen High Pressure Facial Spray

With a botanical mixer and complex put together for your skin's needs (in Ami's case, hydration), this step helps to refine pores while replenishing and calming the skin. The spray helps the skin to absorb the serum better while injecting oxygen.​

4. Serum Penetration and Oxygen Infusion 

Another layer of serum is applied, this time the infusion is done with a tool that pumps air into a targeted area of your skin. ​

5. Double Layer Mask with Inhalation Mask

2 layers of masks will be concocted for your skin for 10 minutes with an oxygen mask on.

6. Final Skin Check!

At Pure Element, they will do a check up on your skin after the facial to check your skin's hydration level and health. The skin therapists will then recommend and apply the products based on your skin's needs.​
